"Where Men Win Glory" by Jon Krakauer is my favorite book I have ever read. It is a true story about a football player named Pat Tillman who gave up his career to fight for our country. He was killed by friendly fire during his time in Afganistan. This is my favorite book because it is a mix of my two favorite things to read about, war and sports.
The book talks a lot about Pat's football career. His time in high school, college and his short time in the NFL. I really enjoyed learning about how great of a player he was because when he played I was very young and I didn't really pay attention to the NFL. I also really liked the war aspect of the book. It was very interesting to learn about the government cover up of the killing and how the truth came out.

Reasons I do not enjoy reading
I do not enjoy reading because I find it very boring and I would much rather be doing other things. Reading to me is like a chore, and I find no pleasure in it at all. I do not mind reading one book every couple of months, but I hate when I have to read a book in a very short amount of time. I would much rather be outside or watching TV then reading.
I really hate reading when I am forced to read a book for school. The books are always horrible and I am never interested in them. I only like reading books about sports, and in school all we do is read horrible books such as Chocolat and Nectar and a Sieve. Those two books were possbily the worst things I have ever read in my life and I wasted valuable time reading them.

My Ideal Reading Situation
My ideal reading spot is in Cancun, Mexico on the beach. I need the weather at a crispy 75 degrees with the sun beating on my chest. I need to make sure my entire body is covered in sun screen because I am a pale person and I don't want to get burned like a lobster. I need a cold beverage with me, prefeably a Gatorade. If a Gatorade is not avabile my second opition would be a Brisk Iced Tea. After a while reading in the sun I would move under the canapy where I would be faned by workers and fed grapes by exiotic women.
My ideal reading spot while at home is in my basement. I call my basement the dungeon and it is guarded by a magestic dragon named Louis. I have a fan in my basement that is constantly hitting me in the right spot, and it makes me very motivated to keep on reading. My fridge in my basement is stocked with an asortment of my favorite beverages such as Gatorades and even some Teddy B's.

Best books I read as a kid.
My mom taught me how to read when I was 5-6 years old and this was the first book I read. This book made me laugh because of the rhymes Dr. Seuss put in it. This book was an easy read and that is why my mom decided to use it to teach me how to read. This book will always be one of my favorite because it was the first one I read and it would always make me very happy as a kid.
Book that inspired me.
The book "Sweetness" is about my favorite football player ever, Walter Payton. After reading the book I realized how much of an inspirtation he was. He died young, after he battled with cancer. During his entire career he was doubted and he turned out to be one of the best players ever to play the game. The book inspired me to never give up on your goals even if you are doubted because if you work hard in the end anything is possible.

Book that made me cry.
"Where Men Win Glory" is a true story about football player Pat Tillman who was killed when he was serving as a Army Ranger. Pat was an amazing football player and decided to leave his career in order to serve his country. He was not only an amazing football player but he was a very kind man. He was killed by friendly fire, and the government covered it up. It made me cry because of how he left his career to honor his country, and ended up being killed because of it.
Favorite Book that went to screen.
Book is about Nucky Thompson and the corrupt government officials during the 1920s in and around Atlantic City. Book and TV show deals with a lot of violence, corruption, and bootleggers. It takes place during the time of prohibition so it has to deal with a lot of gangsters and mobsters. I really enjoyed reading and watching this because it is based off true stories. Also I enjoyed it because of the violence and I am very interested in gangsters and violence.
Favorite summer book.
I read this book two summers ago and I really enjoyed it. I usually only like reading books that have to do with sports, or violence but this one I actually enjoyed. I liked it because I feel like it had a lot in common with real life situations in high school. I could relate to some of them, or think of someone I know that was similar to the characters.
Book I recommend to friends.
This book is about Tim Tebow and his journey of growing up and becoming a great football player. This is a very motivating book and makes you want to work just as hard as he did to become successful. It also talks a lot about god and faith and I feel like that might be good for my friends to read about. This book makes you realize that being good at sports isn't everything, you also have to be a very nice person.

My name is Jake and I am in Reader's Choice. I enjoy reading when I can read at my own pace and when I can read books that I am interested in. I am interested in books that are about sports and war. I do not enjoy when I have to read books very fast and I do not enjoy romance novels. My favorite book I have ever read was "When Men Win Glory" by Jon Krakuer. It is my favorite because it is a mix of war and sports and those are my two favorite things to read about. My blog will be filled with action packed material and you will want to come back and read this bad boy.
